-- WELCOME 2009 GREEN MIGHTY MITES & VISITORS --
Here are important planning dates / times for PYFA and WYFCL activities & events going on in the next couple months so you can print it and lay it all out on your advance calendar. Most are solid, some will move a bit, and some don't have exact timing yet because we are beholden to others.
July 11th -- 1st Equipment Handout -- James River ES Field House -- think 9:30a - 11a
July 18th -- LAST CHANCE Equipment Handout -- James River ES Field House -- think 9a - 10a
Come on the first one, get fitted. Practice wearing the helmet for a week and listening to your kids complain about it. Come back on the 18th if their head still hasn't warped, and molded to fit the hat in that week. If you come on July 18th ... most of the good stuff will be gone, so don't be surprised if you get to pick from your choice of 3 Knute Rockne style no face-mask helmets ... HINT ... come the first week.
July 27th -- 1st day of practice ... NORGE ES ... 6p - 8p ... most coaches will arrive by 5:30p to set up drills stations, and get things ready to go. We are most likely only going to be in Helmets / Shorts / T-Shirts and Cleats this first week. For as long as we are practicing at NORGE (and until school starts) we will practice M-T-W-Th each week.
At some point, we will move to Warhill facility, and go to 3 nights a week from 5:30p - 7:30p.
August 8th -- PYFA MANDATORY WEIGH-IN ... every player must weigh in ... York MS ... time TBD. You must be there to weigh-in. At least it's close by ... and since it's a Saturday, I'm thinking we can have Green Mighty Mites Day at Yorktown Beach afterward! Woo-Woo! And because I'm sure everyone wants to see Coach Chuck, and Coach Pope in their Tommy Bahama Bathing Suits.
August 15th -- Football Jamboree (Practice Game) Warhill Field Complex; we'll play 2 30-min controlled scrimmages vs unknown opponents.
August 15th -- WYFCL Picture Day Warhill Field Complex, at some point during the day we'll do pictures.
August 29th -- OPENING GAME Opponent TBD; Place TBD

-- MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FOR NEW MITES, NEW JUNIORS & CHEERLEADERS -- New Mites & New Juniors Players and Cheerleaders at all levels can sign up via Mail-In Registration by downloading, filling out, mailing in registration info, payment and a copy of child's birth certificate.

COSTS: 2009 Sign-Up costs are $150 for 1st football player or cheerleader and $135 for siblings. Included in the cost for players are: personalized game jersey. Issued equipment includes: Helmet (all helmet pads), mouthpiece, chinstrap, shoulder pads, game pants / socks, pant pads, hip pads. Cheerleaders are given a warm-up suit to keep, and outfitted with their game uniforms as well.
EQUIPMENT NOT COVERED IN COSTS: Parents will have to provide cleats, practice jerseys & pants, and variance chinstraps & mouthpieces. If equipment is lost, parents will have to cover that cost. If equipment is broken / damaged as a result of football the WYFCL will cover it.
