Mom Coach Night

Hornet Moms took over the team for Mom Coach Night on Wednesday October 22nd. Moms volunteered to coach a team of 4 boys in 4-vs-4 mini-games against 7 other teams and other moms. Football coaches served as statisticians, and general mayhem control officers, good thing we have a bunch of military guys on board.

On Tuesday night after practice all the boys were given special Mom Coach Night PINK Jerseys to wear ... thanks to Sam's Dad, Steve Tyler, for putting together those shirts, printing them and giving one to each player and Mom Coach.

Many, many thanks to all our Mom Coach's. Your enthusiasm knows no bounds! I really like that you all got into the game, and exhorted your charges to do their best. And I thought it was cute how you tried to stop the games, and help them when they got boo-boos too. They're tough little kids, you gotta admit that.

Super job staying organized, we got the whole thing done in exactly the right amount of time, and I think the kids really enjoyed having you out there with them.

From your end, I think you got to see the excitement, the frustration, the thrill of a victorious play, and the agony when your runner runs out of bounds before he even makes it back to the line of scrimmage. Plus, you got to see first hand, and up close exactly how hard the pounding and action really is. Man, they hit!

Thanks again to all our mom coach's.

Co-Coach Amy Walker & Co-Coach Jennifer Campbell + 1/2

MOST DEFENSIVE MOM AWARD - Jennifer Campbell & Amy Walker - Team Lil' Bunnies ... Cesar Ward, Sam Tyler, Josh Herslow and Kade Campbell players. They gave up the fewest total yards in 7-games.

PARTICIPATION RECOGNITION - LEAST DEFENSIVE MOM - Ann Vinson ... who had the misfortune to ask her husband, Coach Scott, how to set up a defense (FYI - Coach Scott played 12-years of football in Middle School, High School and College and never made a single tackle) ... Coach Ann's team gave up the "most yards".

MOST OFFENSIVE MOM AWARD - Jenny Humphries (fill in coach) - Team Care Bears ... Chris Humphries, Ar'Mon Jones, Garrett Turner and CJ Bolt players. They gained the most total yards in 7-games.

PARTICIPATION RECOGNITION - LEAST OFFENSIVE MOM - Lisa Pennycuff & Gina Drummond ... in an almost mirrored situation to Mom Coach Ann, Coach Lisa asked her husband, Coach Richard ... who many consider one of our most offensive coaches, for help on setting up some running plays ... a lot of good that did her ... Coach Lisa & Coach Gina's team gained the "fewest yards".

Looking "Pretty In Pink" for Mom Coach Night; Coach Gabe gives advice, then heads off to cheerleading practice.

The boys get used to their new "coaches"; Kendall Turner & Robin Farley are ready to face Robin Ford.

This looks like a real play about to develop; We don't have time for boo-boos ... rub it off, and get back in there.

Carter wonders "is that even a real play?", as Ford's Offensive Coordinator listens in; Jeffry's ready for action.

Nattily clad in winter-scarf, Ann Vinson watches helplessly as her squad gives up another big play;

The coaches get a laugh out of the Most "Defensive" and Most "Offensive" Mom Certificates.
