Hornets Rack Up 41 - 0 Win Over James City Blue Jaguars
Williamsburg moved to 4 - 0 on the season in a game that featured nine different Hornets tallying points as Williamsburg built a 27 - 0 halftime lead then rolled to a 41 - 0 victory over the James City Blue Jaguars.
After a shakey opening few plays, Williamsburg got on track as Cesar Ward hit Michael Burt on a 19-yd TD pass. Burt (3-carries / 21-yds) later got in for a 2nd TD on a nice 5-yd run. Hunter Brittain (4-carries / 40-yds) scored from 17-yds out and added a PAT.
Later in the half, Carter Weissenfluh had a nice 20-yd pass reception from Ward leading to Monii Burden's (3-carries / 40-yds) 5-yd scoring run. Josh Herslow and Tadic Mielczarek added PATs to boost the Hornets to a 27 - 0 advantage.
Blockers Adam O'Neill, Kade Campbell, Cooper Minor and Clayton Vinson kept the front lines moving forward as they enjoyed another solid day of blocking up front for Williamsburg.
In the 2nd half, the Hornets offense once again had to overcome some first plays jitters, but got the ship righted as Hunter Pegram raced 30-yds behind blockers Jonathon Tarpley and Trent Neville for a score. Later Mickey Smith rumbled in from 2-yds out. Tyler Neville and Ryan Pasterik (3-carries / 19-yds) provided a pair of PATs for the game's final margin.
Zach Stallings (2-carries / 13-yds) and TJ Davis (3-carries / 12-yds) helped move the ball for the Hornets. Jermey Herslow, Chase Dively and Gunner Mueller also had nice carries in the game thanks to nice blocks by Tori Roggenbuch and Joey Cianciatti.
Defensively in the 1st half, Bryant Walker led all Hornets tacklers with 4-stops. Burden added 3-tackles, while Zach Pope and Brittain were credited with 2-tackles each. Josh Herslow added a tackle and fumble recovery, while Josh Womeldorf, Josh Farley, Garrett Turner, Weissenfluh, Vinson, and Burt each logged tackles as well.
In the 2nd half, Pastirik, Tyler Neville and Davis each had 3 nice tackles. Dively was in on 2-stops, Mueller had a tackle, and Smith was credited with 1 tackle and a fumble recovery.
