Williamsburg was not looking for a repeat of the regular season's contest with Poqouson where the Hornets scored in the final 15-seconds of the game on a spectacular play for the win.

Instead, the Green & Gold clad squad played a solid game on both sides of the ball, running upfield behind stalwart blocking on offense, while defensively shutting down Poqouson to earn an 18 - 6 victory and the PYFA Superbowl Championship Title.

Williamsburg's offense set the tone on the game's opening drive moving down field on the Bulls' defense. Cesar Ward (18 runs / 103-yds) and Monii Burden (16-runs / 88-yards) used blockers Kade Campbell and Cooper Minor to get the pigskin down the 2-yd line before Ward was chased out of bounds as he headed for the endzone.

Poqouson couldn't muster any offense on their first efforts, as Ward (5-tackles), Zach Pope (3-tackles) and Carter Weissenfluh (2-tackles) helped force a Bulls' punt from the Poqouson 1-yd line.

Williamsburg took over, and this time Ward was able to find paydirt as he cut back against the grain and followed blockers Josh Herslow and Tadic Mielczarek for a 7-yd scoring run putting Williamsburg up 6 - 0.

The Hornets defense then held Poqouson to its 2nd of 3 first half "3-and-punt" possessions as defensive linemen Bryant Walker (4-tackles), Josh Farley and Josh Womeldorf applied pressure to the Poqouson blockers, and held the Bull runners in check.

Williamsburg wasted no time in turning up the front burners as Burden and Ward ripped off back-to-back 20+ yd carries to get the ball to the Poqouson 10-yd line. From there, Ward made a nice cut off the blocks of Clayton Vinson and Adam O'Neill to get in from 1-yd out and advance Williamsburg's lead to 12 - 0.

Garrett Turner (5-tackles) had a crunching tackle on the ensuing kick-off to help pin the Bulls down again. Hunter Brittain (3-tackles) and Jo. Herslow (3-tackles) also combined on big hits. But the Bulls used a  40-yd punt to flip field position in their favor, forcing the Hornets to start from their own 5-yd line.

Williamsburg picked up a quick 1st down, but a turnover gave the ball back to Poqouson inside the "red-zone" at the Hornet 14-yard line with 3 minutes remaining in the half and a potential momentum changing score in the making.

The Hornets defense dug in. Michael Burt (2-tackles), Walker, Brittain and Jo. Herslow all chipped in on stops forcing 4th down on the Bulls. A massive d-line surge allowed Pope to penetrate, and hit the Poqouson carrier in the backfield stopping the Bulls' drive at the Hornet 5-yd line.

Williamsburg appeared content to run out the 1st half clock, but Burden broke a 22-yd run, narrowly stepping out of bounds, giving the Hornets breathing room.

Brittain (5-runs / 28-yds) then followed Walker's crushing lead block to help get the ball to midfield giving the Hornets a chance to take a shot deep with 1-second to go in the half.

Mickey Smith, Trent Neville and Joey Cianciotti blocked to form a passing pocket that allowed Burt time to heave a long-pass toward a streaking Weissenfluh who narrowly missed hauling in the pigskin for a big play as the halftime buzzer sounded with Williamsburg maintaining a 12 - 0 margin.

Michael Burt was on the spot again, for the 2nd week in a row, hustling down field and recovering a Hornet onsides kick to start the 2nd half and give Williamsburg a chance to put the game out of reach.

After a pair of 1st downs to start the drive, Ward faked to Burden left, then followed Brittain's trap block to the inside finding a crease to his right, as he went 23-yds for his 3rd TD of the game staking Williamsburg to an insurmountable 18 - 0 lead early in the 3rd period.

On the next Poqouson drive, Hunter Pegram had 2 big tackles. Nick Doyle laid a huge hit on a Poqouson back, and Chase Dively (4-tackles) was all over the field. Then on a 4th & 5 play, Tyler Neville (4-tackles) got into the Poqouson backfield making a big tackle for a loss, giving the ball back to the Hornets.

Pegram & Ryan Pastirik took turns on the Hornets next drive behind blockers Jonathon Tarpley & Tori Roggenbuch before turning the ball over on downs to Poqouson.

Guenter Mueller, Dively, Ty. Neville and TJ Davis (4-tackles) helped slow the Bulls, but Poqouson got in for their only score of the game with :59 seconds to go in the 3rd period cutting Williamsburg's lead to 18 - 6.

Burden and Brittain had nice carries on the next Hornet possession, and Ward completed a 9-yd pass to Burt to help Williamsburg chew up some game clock before ceding ball control to the Bulls again.

Herslow had a nice open field tackle and Turner knocked away a Poqouson pass forcing another Bulls punt that Burden returned 15-yds. Neville and Zach Stallings had hard-nosed runs for Williamsburg setting up TJ Davis' for a 38-yd carry to the Poqouson 2-yd line behind the blocks of Jeremy Herslow and Ben Tyler on the game's final play.

Finishing the season 11 - 1, Williamsburg ended the game with 300+ total-offense & return yards compiled on 52 offensive plays while defensively limiting Poqouson to a handfull of rushing yards and forcing the Bulls to punt on 5 of their 8 possessions during the game.
